Your ratings, refunds and standing with each platform are decided around the sale: messages, haggling, lost parcels and unhappy buyers. Handle them calmly, honestly and inside the app, and problems stay small.

Replying to messages
A buyer who messages you is interested enough to ask. Your job is to remove their doubt quickly and honestly.
- Reply quickly. Aim for the same day, while they are still keen.
- Answer the actual question. The measurement, the flaw and where it is, the fabric. Asked twice? Add the answer to the listing.
- Keep it in the app. The chat is your record. Vinted's Community Standards say keep all conversations on Vinted, with no phone numbers, emails or bank details in chat, and its listing rule is: No external links or references in listings or profile (checked 28 Sep 2026, source 2).
- Friendly, never pushy. No guilt trips, no invented rival buyers, no "last chance" unless it really is. The law on fake deadlines: Banned practice (DMCC Act 2024, Schedule 20, paragraph 7) (checked 28 Sep 2026, source 3).
- Never promise a fit. Give measurements and let the buyer compare (Measuring and sizing).
